How to Write Original Book Reviews

Book reviews can be fun to write. For some I know that writing papers is not the easiest task, but with a little help you can write one of the best book reviews you have ever done. There exists a general structure for all papers. That structure is each paper should consist of a beginning, middle, and end. The beginning should serve as an introduction, the middle as the main source of information pertaining to the topic, and the end which is the conclusion of your work. What kind of book review are you conducting?

It is important for you to know what type of book review you will be doing. There generally exist two types of reviews that you can undertake. The first one is that of a descriptive review. A descriptive review gives information to the reader concerning the book. They convey this information to the reader via a description of the work and a exposition. The work aims to let the reader know the objective of the story and authors purpose. This can be done through using different passages from the text as examples.

The next sort of review is that of the critical review. Such a review seeks to describe and evaluate the book in question. The evaluation must also be supported by passages in the text.

Requirements:

Once you know what type of review you will be doing its time to move on to the next step in the process. You will need to have an understanding of the work provided. This includes a n understanding of the purpose and how different elements within the story work towards that purpose. You will also need to understand the genre on which the work is based.

After you have gain an understanding for the work you can start working on your first draft. The work should include an introduction. The introduction should include a thesis statement, authorial purpose, work being evaluated, and comparison of the work to other authors within the same genre.

The body of the paragraph will help develop your main points presented in your introductory paragraph. You should be sure to use material or text from the work to back up claims presented. The conclusion should summarize all that you have written about throughout the evaluation. Be sure to talk about the main points you want to reiterate to your readers.
